Study objectives:

• Review income and expenditure of each of the Charity’s main services;
• Identify opportunities to increase income generation to support the Charity’s objectives; and.
• Develop a business strategy working closely with staff and Trustees.

We developed the strategy over three phases:

i) Where are we now?
We reviewed Bradnet’s financial performance in detail identifying services that generated a profit, and those that ran at a loss. We interviewed members of staff, completed SWOT analysis and identified key trends in the funding landscape and the changing requirements of service users.

ii) Where do we want to get to?
We delivered a facilitated workshop for senior Bradnet staff and Trustees, and reviewing the Charity’s vision, mission and overall aim. We developed a long-list of organisational objectives were developed using the SWOT-TOWS approach. Objectives were shortlisted in the workshop using a facilitated workshop exercise.

iii) How do we get there?
Detailed Action Plans were developed in partnership with Bradnet’s staff and Trustees for each of the four short-listed options. We supported the Senior Leadership Team over a 12 month period as they implemented priority actions.
